I met Gautam Sir in 9th grade during auditions for Wicked. Nervous and new to the school, his warm smile stood out among the serious panel. Though he never taught me music formally, he was always around—checking in during free periods, offering encouragement, and creating a space where we could talk openly. His support helped me stay grounded and focused on my musical journey. After one performance, he acknowledged my growth, which meant a lot during a pivotal year. Drums and music are something I find myself to be passionate about and Gautam sir has taught me a significant amount of knowledge by providing me with various opportunities like working alongside him as he works our school orchestra for a musical or teaching me how to work with a band with various different instruments. As a supervisor for my project, he guided me thoroughly in exploring the various genres of music and simply taught me new techniques and drum beats. Gautam sir has been a crucial part of my music journey in order to have acquired the musical knowledge I now know today.
